“The Mitten” is a traditional folktale from Ukraine. It has been retold in many different ways and in many different languages. Priscilla Howe is a storyteller who tells both her own original stories and traditional folktales. She has lived in Belgium and in Bulgaria. She tells stories mostly in English, but she also tells them in French (one of the official languages of Belgium) and in Bulgarian. Howe likes to picture a story in her mind and then use different voices and gestures to help bring a story alive in the imaginations of her audience.
